Mountain sliding as kicked into all time standards the last couple weeks here in the northwest. With snow staying on the city streets for the better half of a week, a forced vacation to ride pow was a present from mother nature. I've made it to the pass 7 of the last 9 days, and wow it's been amazing! Alpental reset itself with 8" to 2 feet everyday we showed up. Lot's of big sessions with a wide range of snow shred bro's.
Getting to charge down a lot of the classic Alpy lines without a track in sight is magical to say the least. When it's this soft and deep you can literally ride anything, it's unreal. I can't think of any other form of physical activity that gets me this psyched.
The Arob banked slalom was a great day in particular. I couldn't be bothered to wait in line to get a timed run, but we had a great time running some trains through the course. There was too much pow and too many friends that wanted to shred lines to worry about the stop watch. After chair 2 had shut for the day, 10 of us hiked up and charged first tracks down chicken butt...this is the stuff dreams are made of. We gathered on the ridge before dropping in and Kael shared some kind words about Aaron and how special the day had been and that this run was for him. You would have been so stoked Arob! But you were, because you were with us. A day to remember for sure!
The Cascades are a very special place in this world. Majestic and ever challenging. One could easily spend a lifetime exploring there seemingly never ending boundaries and ever changing terrain. I am grateful to have them in my backyard. Cheers and hats of to all friends who've i've shared time with at the mountain. Whether it's riding sick zones, hiking up a little further, one foot'n the high traverse, bs'n on the lift, blazin in the lift line, or hangin in the parking lot...it's all good and every experience out there is always best sharing it with friends.
